Rep. Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming) was re-elected chairman of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Republican Caucus today.
“I am honored that my colleagues re-elected me to this post,” said Major. “I will continue to serve Pennsylvania and my constituents in the 111th District with the same amount of commitment and enthusiasm that I have since my election to the House in 1994.”
Major said the General Assembly will face many challenges in the coming session, noting that General Fund revenue collections are nearly $565 million short of estimates only four months into the fiscal year.
“We will have to stretch every tax dollar,” she said.
As Caucus Chairman, Major conducts Republican Caucus meetings, updates members on the movement of bills and resolutions through the legislative process, participates in leadership discussions and helps set the Republican agenda.
Prior to her election to the House, Major was Susquehanna County Treasurer.
Major maintains district offices at Route 706 Lake Montrose, RR 7 Box 7186, Montrose, PA 18801 (telephone: 570-278-3374) and 130 N. Bridge Street, Tunkhannock, PA 18657 (telephone: 570-836-5888). She also holds regular office hours once a month in Wayne County.
She lives in Bridgewater Township.
