Veterans Mobile Service Center to Visit Montrose Oct. 29, Says Major
MONTROSE – Rep. Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wyoming/Wayne) today announced that the mobile veterans center’s next visit to the Price Chopper Shopping Plaza in Montrose will be on Monday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Price Chopper Shopping Plaza is located at 6750 State Route 706 in Montrose.
“I was disappointed to have the September visit canceled, but there is a limited number of mobile centers and personnel to staff them,” said Major. “The center will return to Montrose in October, so I encourage veterans who have an issue to discuss or simply want more information on veterans services to plan on stopping by on Oct. 29. This is a unique service available in our area and I encourage all area veterans to make use of the center.”
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs operates the mobile veterans center to reach veterans in underserved areas. There are several mobile vet centers in Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.
Some of the services provided include:
• Individual and group counseling.
• Marital and family counseling.
• Bereavement counseling.
• Medical referrals.
• Assistance in applying for VA benefits.
• Employment counseling, guidance and referrals.
• Alcohol and drug assessments.
• Information and referrals to community resources.
Major noted that dates and times are subject to change, due to weather conditions and vehicle maintenance. Notification of cancellation and rescheduling will be done as soon as possible if affected.
